Akira (アキラ) is an Earthling who befriended the Autobots during an attack by the Nine Great Demon Generals. His father knows a lot about the Zodiac. He enjoys frolicking in meadows, catching butterflies, holding hands, blushing and picking flowers. He is very good friends with Cain and his pink bunny-bird Emusa.

On the planet Earth, the planet of his birth (hey, that rhymes), Akira was collecting butterflies. Akira loved to collect butterflies and just generally run around through fields of flowers and such.
Suddenly the air was filled with the sounds of giant robot monsters—which Akira didn't hear until Trypticon was close enough to step on him. Fortunately the Autobot Micromasters arrived and rescued Akira (and the other humans around) from a fate the same as death.
The Micromasters and their friend Cain introduced themselves to Akira, and Akira hung out with them while the Decepticon Generals attacked Earth. After Dai Atlas showed up to save the day, retrieving the Zodiac energy, Akira proved himself quite knowledgeable about it. After all, Akira's father is a geologist. Of course he'd know about a crystallised heart in the depths of the Earth which is one of the greatest sources of power in the universe.

- Despite popular belief and pretty much all the visual evidence, Akira is a boy. It is heavily implied that Cain and Akira are romantically attracted to one another.
- Akira and his Zone chums went through some notable redesigning before they made it to the small screen. As illustrated at right, it really looks like Akira was going to be a girl at one point. Because, I mean, that's got to be a girl, doesn't it?
