- Lightspeed is an Autobot from the Generation One continuity family.
The Motorvators' scout and messenger, Lightspeed more than lives up to his name. Literally. His groundspeed actually exceeds the speed of light itself! This, combined with a specially equipped Energon figure outfitted with a micro lens photo-recorder, makes him perfect for conducting the team's recon. Astonishing speed is not displayed solely by his vehicle mode, however. In robot mode he is able to move his jousting laserblade so fast, it becomes invisible. These abilities make Lightspeed quite a valuable asset for the Motorvators in clashes with their slow-moving Decepticon rival, Overlord.
Toys[]
Generation One[]
- Lightspeed (Motorvator, 1991)
- Lightspeed's only toy was a redeco of the Brainmaster Braver, though lacking the combiner kibble of the original version. The redecoing wasn't too extreme, as the plastic on Lightspeed was a lighter shade than the plastic on Braver, along with different colored paint and stickers. Like the other Motorvators, Lightspeed lacks the Combiner kibble needed to form a Motorvator version of Road Caesar
- Lightspeed was released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand in 1991, and was also released in European packaging in Japan, much like the later USA Editions.
