Hasbro's contract with licensees almost always gives the sole copyright on the art to them (for instance the only copyright notice in the stormbringer manga TPB i have next to be says 'copyright hasbro,' no note at all about IDW's ownership.)
I think there's some legal wrinkle whereby Hasbro probably still have to pay the artist to use the images- but they hold the copyright, not the artist. (If I'm wrong on this someone please correct me because it's a major misconception on my part with legal implications.) -Derik 22:38, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
