Specifics: Toy

Inferno is an Autobot from the Universe series.
I don't rock and roll. I... extinguish.
I don't rock and roll. I... extinguish.

Inferno is one frustrated bot. An alternate-universe iteration of the Predacon Inferno pulled from his timestream and altered by Unicron, he still has the mad desire to engulf his enemies in searing, metal-melting flames. Yet all of his weaponry is designed to extinguish fires.

Freed from the Cauldron by Optimus Primal, Inferno follows his new "queen" with fanatical devotion, attacking the minions of Unicron with savage disregard for his own personal safety.

Note: Inferno's character information comes from an unpublished character bio written by 3H for Hasbro's Universe website. It is highly likely that this officially-approved bio did not make it online due to there being another "Inferno" bio online, even though it belonged to the Energon Autobot Inferno, and the page maintainers not realizing they weren't the same toy or character.

  • Inferno (Deluxe, 2003)
    • Accessories: Left & right thrusters, 2 "flame" missiles
A redeco of the Robots in Disguise Prowl toy in a deco similar to the Generation 1 character Red Alert, Inferno transforms into a "Fire Chief" Lamborghini Diablo. The toy features a pair of pressure-launch missile launchers, which attach to his car-mode spoiler or to his robot-mode forearm, as well as attaching to the car-mode's light bar in robot-mode to form a jet pack.
The same mold is used by Universe Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

[edit] Trivia

  • Inferno and his wave-mate Ratchet were given the "group" name "Machine Robot Rescue", presumably in an attempt by Hasbro to block competitor Bandai from using the name for a potential importation of their Machine Robo Rescue toy series from Japan to the US.
