Obsidian (Universe)
From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki
The name or term Obsidian refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Obsidian (disambiguation).
- Obsidian is a Decepticon from the Universe meta-continuity.
An alternate-universe incarnation of the Vehicon general, this Obsidian teamed with Tankor and overthrew Megatron in a coup, becoming co-rulers of Cybertron.
This came to an end when both generals were summoned to the Cauldron and became thralls of Unicron, but they don't seem to mind. Obsidian now uses his brilliant tactical knowledge and vast wartime experience to serve the will of the devourer of all existence.

Obsidian participates in Reptilion's assault on the Autobots. It is unknown how well he fared, or if he was spared from Unicron's abduction. Most likely not. Universe CD-ROM

- Tankor & Obsidian (Ultra, 2003)
- A redeco of the Beast Machines Obsidian toy, Universe Obsidian transforms into a twin-rotor assault helicopter vaguely similar to an Osprey. His cockpit in helicopter mode is multi-jointed to allow it movement to look around, the Vehicons' toy aesthetic being "living vehicles". The cockpit's "eyes" further enhance the effect. The two rotor blades are pressure-launch projectiles. His deco features silver-paint "energon surge" splash-patterns.
- This mold is also used by Robots in Disguise Obsidian. A hand-painted mock-up of the mold was presented as a proposed Wreckers Rotorbolt as a future BotCon exclusive, but was never produced (see below).
[edit] Trivia
- Obsidian's coloration is not far at all from the proposed colors for the unmade Wrecker Rotorbolt (save the "energon surge" deco, of course). As such, many fans use him as a substitute for the haughty Predacon.
