Spoilsport has a rather appropriate moniker, given that he spoils the fun of his partner Sureshot by being an equally good marksman. In a contest between an intelligent gun and an intelligent gunner, the gun gets a majority vote. His partner resents his interference, and in his turn, the Nebulan resents Sureshot for his lack of appreciation. It can't help that Sureshot is a jerk, of course, and presumably he never calls.
Marvel Comics continuity
(Events from the UK stories are in italics.)
Spoilsport was one of a group of Nebulans loyal to Galen who made contact with the remaining Autobots after Galen and the Autobot Headmasters were captured by Scorponok's Decepticons. In order to help the Autobots defend a nursery Lord Zarak was planning to occupy, they underwent a binary bonding process to become their weapons but the group ended up pulling out when the resulting battle threatened to destroy the nursery.
Spoilsport, along with Peacemaker, Pinpointer and their Autobot partners, was later captured by the Decepticons to be used as bait for a group of Autobot Headmasters. However, the Headmasters managed to free the three Targetmasters, who then freed their partners and managed to defeat the Decepticon ambush.
After Fortress Maximus had led the Autobots to Earth, Spoilsport joined the other Targetmasters in launching an attack on the Decepticon faction led by Ratbat and Shockwave, who had captured Buster Witwicky. They were turned back by the base's defences.
Sureshot was among the Transformers seen lying deactivated after the battle with Unicron...so things don't look good for Spoilsport.
American cartoon continuity
- Voice actor: Danny Mann
Spoilsport was one of the warriors of the Nebulon rebels. He helped capture the Autobot group led by Kup and Hot Rod when they arrived on the planet, thinking they were tools of the Hive, but ended up allied to them when the Decepticons attacked. When Brainstorm managed to gain the details of the Decepticons' new Targetmaster technology, Spoilsport underwent the process to be bonded to Sureshot and introduced himself to Optimus Prime before joining the taskforce that recovered the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber. On travelling with the Autobots to Cybertron, the Nebulans, worried about the possibility of Nebulos being destroyed if the Plasma Energy Chamber was opened, broke rank, intending to destroy the Key before Galvatron could use it.

- Spoilsport's Japanese character model differs from his American one. Oddly, it does not seem to have ever been published anywhere, with new artwork by Ban Magami used in various Japanese publications alongside the models for the other five Targetmaster companions.
