Talk:Black Lio Convoy
From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki
Wasn't there an RM Black Lioconvoy? Was he the same "character"? -LV 03:12, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, there was one. But the official story behind those black redecoes was that they came in contact with some sort of MacGuffin substance. —Interrobang 03:21, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Context Wanted (Japanese speakers?)
I'm trying to figure out what the hell Black Lioconvoy and the five other similar clones are. Anyone else care to help?
Download the episode, take a stab!
Uh- this is a lens... thing... that seems to project, or refract... twisted versions of the original. But it also seems to distort the content of books, which is... more nonsensical than normal. (What's the device called? They threw around "Copy Machine" a lot, but I thought they also called it Beam Machine once, which is more descriptive.) These guys feel liek they could be AU incarnations- except they're all the same color, so maybe it is just like a prism that reflects/refracts... or something? Moon and Artemis seem to be talking about the machine's origins and purpose at the end of the episode and... help? Can anyone sketch out what they have to say? -Derik 04:04, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Destron/Predacon
Psst, Interobang? Galvatron's group are called the Destrons. Canonically, in western media. The Destrons are a splinter faction of the Predacons. -Derik 04:16, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Only in IDW continuity, which this isn't. —Interrobang 04:20, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- We make them Predacons because the faction they are a member of is called Predacons in English continuity. Except it's not. In the only English continuity ever established, the faction they are a member of has a different name.
- (I'm not even sure I disagree with you, but I'm feeling really uncertain about this call, and I'd like to have a discussion about it so I have a better feel for how it sits in relation to site policy.) -Derik 04:56, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, they're members of the Destrons, a specific group in relation to the Predacons in IDW continuity. In Japanese continuity, there isn't any separation. BW Megatron is a Destron, Magmatron is a Destron, Galvatron is a Destron.
- It's more comparable to the Wreckers, where some guys were Wreckers in one continuity, but not in others, because the Wreckers don't actually exist in those continuities, just like how "Destrons as a splinter faction" doesn't exist in Japanese continuity. —Interrobang 05:12, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] First?
I was just wondering, is Black Lio Convoy the first "black repaint" (meaning Evil Prime/Convoy counterpart, not Skywarp types) to actually appear in an animated series? I believe he is, but I'm a little rusty on Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, and Zone. That said, it might be something worth mentioning on his page if he is. Gotta give a guy credit after all.--TriPredRavage 22:27, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- It...er... is mentioned on his page. In the intro paragraph, no less.--RosicrucianTalk 22:36, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think so... I guess it depends on whether or not you consider RID Scourge a black repaint, since he wasn't a repaint of RID Optimus Prime. -- Dark T Zeratul 22:38, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Black Lio Convoy predates any other "evil" black repaints. He's not the first black repaint, but he's the one that started the trend that they were eeeeeevil.--RosicrucianTalk 22:42, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I should have been more specific. I guess what I was asking is that A) he was the first Black/Evil Convoy in animation and B) that Black Zarak doesn't count. But it seems pretty clear that BZ is really a Megatron to Galvatron type case. RiD Scourge/Black Convoy came after BLC. Thanks for the clarification!--TriPredRavage 22:45, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- He also established the black-and-gray-with-aqua-accents color scheme, which now has to have over a dozen examples. -Derik 22:59, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
