Why is he in the supervillains category? --KilMichaelMcC 23:41, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

He is clearly a Decepticon. >=(
No, way, he's definitely a Predacon. You just can trust mustaches like that... Cyberlink420 00:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Maybe he IS Moustache Man! D: -Hepathos 20:06, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Dr. Eggman's long lost cousin, perhaps? Or something more...wow, we really ARE desperate for new info on this guy. Cyberlink420 22:55, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
I think you mean ROBOTNIk.
No, I mean Eggman. He was always known as Eggman in Japan; the name Robotnik, as well as the belief that the games took place on "Mobius", was the result of American localization. Kind of like the whole "Optimus Prime vs. Convoy" scenario, except actually fixed by making one name universal...but we're getting off topic. Cyberlink420 04:27, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
I THINK YOU MEAN ROBOTNIK. >=(
...and you didn't read a word I just said. Thumbs-up. (-_-')Cyberlink420 20:32, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
I believe he thinks you mean Robotnik. --Andrusi 20:28, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Obnoxious anonymous point: BOTH names are equally valid before and after the fix. Sonic was developed on both shores, and actually came out in the US first (by all of 3 days...). Also, unless they've fixed it more.. it was Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. So. Everybody more or less wins. Kinda like the millions of equally canon G1s. 76.28.159.16

If he was related to Robotnik, then that would be kinda funny, considering how Fanzone is technophobe, Er, I mean hates machines....

Personally, I think he looks like Captain Stottlemeyer from Monk. --Criminallyinane 15:40, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

personally I think he is a visual cue to the police chief in inspector gadget. Chief Quimby , Gontier in the original version.
He's clearly inspired by the Chief Quimby. He has the mustache, the blue suit, and the "car destroyed" running-gag is similar to the "self-destruct message" running-gag.
Chirf Quimby for reference. -Derik 22:17, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] family

Are we allowed to add that he has family. In Velocity he says in response to the gps's directions "If I need a backseat driver Ill call my mother-in-law." So that means he at least has a wife right? Proconix 17:00, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Proconix

It had been established that he was married back in Total Meltdown, which we mention in the article, so it's kinda redundant. -- SFH 17:40, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] First name

Is his first name supposed to be Carmen, or did someone get confused when they read the trivia reference on his name? -- SFH 21:14, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

It's been stated in an episode.--RosicrucianTalk 21:37, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
It was? I don't recall... but lonegamer did quote from the script to the first issue of the Animated comic here, where he spells it "Carmine". - Chris McFeely 21:45, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Could've sworn it was. Looking at the history, these edits can be traced to Hoop and Thyalcine.--RosicrucianTalk 21:56, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I'll corroborate the first Trivia note, having asked Marty Isenberg myself at BotCon. According to him, it's "Carmen", named after Marty's neighbor, the real Carmen Fanzone. I even thought it was supposed to be "Carmine", but he corrected me. It's possible someone chickened out in the legal department and had it changed to "Carmine" for the comic, even though the real Fanzone gave permission for his name to be used. Or lonegamer8 might've mistranscribed.--Apcog 23:12, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
