Anyone know what these characters would have been called? Takeshi357 15:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Additional Pic[]

We were worried about outright swiping this from Nakas, IIRC.

Old Stuff[]

Is it just me or does it seem like the G1 gobots are responcible for the Maximal Upgrade?

"they have brought technologies such as their distinctive transporter devices and biomechanical engineering to this world, contributing to the birth of new generations of TFs like the Spychangers." X-BoB58 00:15, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

That's conjecture. The biomech engineering thing comes from the Tonka GoBots' backstory, in which they are originally organic lifeforms who have moved to having robotic bodies. --M Sipher 03:35, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't the article be 'GoBots (G1)'? - RolonBolon 04:57, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

There is no indication anywhere of where the mentioned team bio can be read... --Andrusi 18:50, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Small Foot and Road Ranger's colors[]

Is it just me or do Small Foot and Road Ranger's choices in colors seem to originate from this? --Detour 02:52, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Come on! I can't be the only one who sees this! --Detour 20:56, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
So... is the main image on this article photoshop colors then? Were they not released int hose colors? *checks* No, they were...
Oh, I see! the new US art of Smallfoot pushes her into that color scheme instead of bright orange. Yeah, that sure looks to be deliberate, though I suppose it might be a coincidence, just muting the oranges to fit a more somber tone. Was a similar thing done for Road Ranger?
Why not ask Jackpot? (Also, the trivia note should probably make clearer that those recolors were on 1 page only, and were definitely Gears and Huffer. They could be inspiration only- and are not retroactive appearances by the characters.) -Derik 00:10, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Well frankly, if it had been just one bot I would've dismissed it as a coincidence. But you have a yellow/red Gears and a black/orange Huffer. Kind of hard not to see similarities with the e-hobby redecos. --Detour 01:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
But huffer in the Ladybird art is blue and orange, nto black and orange.
I will grant you that the new Withered Hope art on Smallfoot's page is more brown-and-creme than orange-and-orange, and does bear a striking resembelance to those colors. Why not ask Jackpot (which did the art on Smallfoot's page) if that was intentional? -Derik 01:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, the WH artwork's colors are intentionally desaturated and given some grain to make them look more "nior". --M Sipher 01:26, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Right- but even then- they ended up really close to the colors in this picture- bright orange suddenly turning into DARK brown instead of simply desaturated orange. (WH Smallfoot looks nothing like the toy's colors, and strikingly like this Gears miscolor.) So again I repeat; why not just ask Jackpot? He did the damn image. -Derik 01:31, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
BECAUSE I DISCUSSED THE ART WITH JACKPOT WHILE THE STORY WAS BEING MADE AND WE AGREED ON THE COLORS BEING DESATURATED AND IN LOW LIGHT TO LOOK LIKE AN OLD NOIR FILM, NOT SO SMALL FOOT WOULD DIMLY RESEMBLE A FUCKING LADYBIRD BOOK COLORING ERROR.. Christ on a crutch. Not to mention, WH's stylistic decisions have nothing to do with why Takara chose the colors for the toy they did. --M Sipher 02:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Ah, that was not entirely clear from your prior post. Thank you. -Derik 02:23, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Well as far as the "blue" on Huffer... looks more like it's "Marvel" black than blue, especially since Megatron uses the same exact color on his black parts (of course, actual black is used on everyone else, but still...). As for Gears, well the image in the book is yellow and red. The toy is yellow and red. I don't know why you say Small Foot is orange, her red is the exact same shade as Gears's. Granted the colors aren't a 100% match, but then again neither are Bad Boy's compared to Powerglide's early deco. --Detour 01:57, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Except elsewhere int he same book they bused black for black. -Derik 02:23, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Which I actually pointed out in my previous post, and also pointed out that Megatron used the same "blue" for his black parts. --Detour 02:28, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
If anything, Small Foot's colors seem to be an inversion of the orange South American Pick-Up, to me. Not enough for me to say that's what was done, though. [1] [2] --Monzo 09:34, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
