Talk:Keepers Trilogy

From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

I know this Wiki isn't quite so enforcing of NPOV than Wikipedia itself, I think the original version of this article quite pushed it. I've done some cleanup here, but it could probably use more than what I've done, probably expansion. --Ratbat 15:46, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

  • I haven't read through it thoroughly myself, but a few other people discussing it on IRC seemed to agree with you. Feel free to cut back the vitriol a bit. --ItsWalky 15:49, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
I wrote the article, and i don't disagree it needed to be trimmed back. I happen to like the keepers trilogy (no objections to the unofficial name? Officially it's called 'the transformers trilogy,' which i felt was WAY too generic, I put Kt in quotes in the descriptor...) but I have no illusions that it's in any way... good. Since I expected an edit to be coming, I felt more free to trash its low points. (Unlike most 'the fans felt' statements, the reaction to the Keeprs Trilogy DOES seem to be near-unanimous?)
*reads edit* ...you CUT while Optimus displayed the IQ of a particularly stupid housecat, and KEPT crapped out liscenced book? I mean, it's not untrue, but... -150.253.70.55 21:11, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Why are the book titles underlined, but the titles of everything else in italics? It's my understanding that all titles should be italicized.--G.B. Blackrock 22:33, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

My opinion on how to format things is valid and must be respected, even if it flies in the face of established conventions. Don't oppress me! -Derik

So, fans were "especially disappointed by David Cian's work on the series" (first paragraph of Fan Reaction) but were "more receptive to David Cian's half of the trilogy" (fourth paragraph)? Seems pretty contradictory to me. Someone more familiar with the fan reaction than I should fix that. --Bertson 02:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Good heavens. These sound baaaaaaaad. People run the risk of irreversible brain damage plowing through novels like that. -- Autobus Prime 15:12, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I just re-read it. The 3rd book is actually quite readable. it cits back on the wanton violence and faux-edgy cultural references considerably. It's also completely uninteligable without the previous 2.
I forgive it many of its sins for inventing somethign as awesome as the Followers.-71.37.253.98 16:50, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I WANT to do detailed reviews of the Novels, but I just can't bring my self to waste two days of my life rereading the dreck that was hardwired... anyone else up for the punishment?

Reviews, or Synopses? (This reminds me I need ot get back to my 'wikifying every human character in the KT' project... TOO MANY... PET... PROJECTS!) -Derik 17:30, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
I was thinking along the lines of more detailed synopsis for each. I just can't make myself do Hardwired. I want to buut it's a heaft chunk of bad lit. Atleast Cian's have a brevity to them.

I have a vague memory that Hardwired, at least, depicted the Transformers as turning into oversized vehicles, specifically mentioning Starscream being much larger than a real F-15. Fortunately, I can't check right now because my copy of the book is in another state. Can anyone back me up on this or say "no, there's nothing like that" or something? --Andrusi 20:01, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, I specifically remember one or two of the Autobots being described as having feet the size of buses... and then causing much collateral damage with their bus-sized feet. Which is stupid, because the primary Autobots aren't that big in *any* fiction, and wouldn't be unless they were *all* using mass displacement. Or something. [edit] Are we ever going to have pages for the individual novels?

Well, are we? The books seem to be nicely summarized here, so should we just accept that we don't need to go into further detail and kill all the red links to the individual books? Chip 00:26, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Grunk. We really SHOULD have the individual books. The problem is finding someone to trudge through them all. --M Sipher 00:41, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Xaaron's working on the summaries. Let him go at his own pace. We don't want to bite the hand that feeds us. -- SFH 00:44, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
mY liFE iS PaIn! No, seriously, I should have the last one up in a week or so. --Xaaron 00:56, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
