The Above information is incorrect.
"Laurention Abyss" is the second deepest point in the pacific and the "Challenger Deep" is the deepest point in the world.

If you feel an article is incorrect, then edit the article to correct the mistake, don't make the article essentially argue with itself.--RosicrucianTalk 19:11, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Article still incorrect[]

The Laurentian Abyss is in the Atlantic, not the Pacific and is far from being the second deepest part of the ocean as indicated on this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deepest_ocean_trenches. The stated figure of 27,651 is the depth of the South Sandwich Trench not the Laurentian Abyss. It looks as though the author quickly read the summary of the second search item from googling "laurentian abyss depth" and did not read the article itself. 97.81.35.89 18:14, 7 August 2009 (UTC)robione

The film erroneously states that the Laurentian Abyss is the deepest point on Earth; the actual deepest point is the Challenger Deep, a section of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean.

   * In the 2007 film Transformers, the remains of Megatron, Blackout, Brawl and the other defeated Decepticons are dropped into the abyss. It is theorized that the pressure and extremely low temperatures at this depth would crush and bury the evil alien robots. However, the film erroneously states that the abyss is the deepest point on Earth; the actual deepest point is the Challenger Deep, a section of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean.
   * In the 2009 film Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, the remains of Megatron and the other decepticon remains are found at the bottom of the Abyss, by his Decepticon comrades and then he is reactivated. Decepticon Protoforms are also seen climbing up a destroyed ship sinking into the Abyss waters. The film also incorrectly states that the abyss is 9300 fathoms deep (making it about 17,000 meters).

Ha take that...
