Okay, so, the R2 Headmasters DVDs translated this chickadee's name as "Papika." Now, I don't want to make that the be-all of things, because that translation was hardly perfect, but listing to the Japanese, that sure *sounds* a lot more right than "Rebecca." - Chris McFeely 21:02, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, and the StarTV dubs call her Rebecca. Of course, they also call Wheelie "Willy," and half the time the accents of the people saying Rebecca's name make it sound like "Rebarker." Does Papika mean anything in Japanese? Could it be a name? Or maybe her name is Paprika! --ItsWalky 21:26, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, didn't even notice the name came from the StarTV dub. I discard it, sir! Discard it! :) It thought that her name might've been supposed to be "Paprika" too, actually, but listening to it, that's no "rii" sound in the name. S'just pronounced "Pap'ka." - Chris McFeely 21:29, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
I asked my Japanese-speaking girlfriend if it's an actual Japanese name, but she says she's never heard of it, and it doesn't sound very Japanese to her. On the other hand, it's not unheard of to make up words. Also, if they don't pronounce the middle syllable, that would be indicated by a double-consonant when spelled, such as Pappuka, Papukka, Pappika, or Papikka. --ItsWalky 21:56, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Brainwave! I just checked the credits! Her name is: パピカ - Pa-pi-ka. So... er, romanise that whatever way you would. I know not of such things. - Chris McFeely 22:14, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
"Papika"'s about as good a Romanization as you'll get. --M Sipher 22:20, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Mmn, was just listening to it again, and I was talking out of my arse - they totally hit the "I" in pronouncing her name. - Chris McFeely 22:29, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

This here:

Papika voice

Is her voice actress. Anyone care to translate? (didn't bother with copyrights on the pic since it's only for temp purposes.)- Chris McFeely 22:51, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

How come we're calling the people on Paradise humans instead of aliens? --Rotty 03:17, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
