"Samuel James Witwicky"? Where did "uel James" come from?

Edit: Oh, the novelization. Nevermind. Awa64 07:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

NP, it looks like the full name is gonna be in movie dialog, otherwise I'd have made a specific note of the novelization. In 23 days (or whatever) it'll be moot. -Derik 07:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Fixed the last of the links. -King Starscream 13:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

If 217 had the same meaning for Sam, that would make his date of birth February 2nd, 1990.

Do we know for sure the movie takes place in 2007 just because it was released this year? School's in and there's a 2009 Camaro just driving down the road, which I would think puts it in early fall 2008. -Rotty 20:36, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

...good point, I'll add another caveat in the trivia note. -Derik 21:24, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
I looked at the trivia and the English was very mangled. I was going to clean it up, but... there's really no way to determine what year the movie takes place, as far as I can remember. We can only determine the "no earlier than" cutoff. I also don't recall any specific evidence as to Sam's actual age, which makes it even harder. All in all, this is a little too speculatory and unproveable to be trivia. I left the Michael Bay bit and that's all. --Sntint 04:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Sam's explicitly 17, though maybe that's the novelization and not film dialogue. The film is implicitly set during the Bush Administration (between the President's accent and the Bush sticker to the right of Glen Whitmann's computer monitor), with a 2009 Camaro on the road. Saying anything definitive would be fanon, though. -Rotty 04:14, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

(1990-)[]

What's the source for this? We know he's 17, and the film seems to be set around September of 2008 (school's in, everyone not in uniform dresses like it's summer, and there's a 2009 Camaro just driving through a highway tunnel). That could give him a birth year of either late 1990 or 1991, so from where did 1990 come? -Rotty 20:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

It's the birth year he wrote on his genealogy chart. --Steve-o 01:04, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I did nto know that at the time, I think i shall revert the trivia note with a footnote indicating where the year has been confirmed.
Meta thought- we call out footnotes section... but we're almost never them for citation. They probably should be called footnotes. If there was a consensus to change this could your bot do so? (I suspect the answer is yes-but-I-have-no-way-of-getting-a-list-of-articles-with-sections-called-references) -Derik 01:16, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Can you ask that again in English? --Steve-o 01:59, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Can the Diagnostic Drone make a global change to all instances of a section title as well as changing links? -Derik 02:30, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Sure. It can do any text replacement I want. And while there's no way to get the list of articles with that section, as you say, I can just tell it to check every page on the wiki. I probably wouldn't babysit it while doing that, though. It would be slow. --Steve-o 03:05, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Nononononononononono[]

He says it seven times throughout the film. I counted when I saw it in IMAX yesterday. Why delete this fact? Other Wiki entries here include humorous facts about their characters, and the fact that Shia says it multiple times throughout the film is just as noteworthy as any other entry here.

Apparently, you're the only one who thinks it is notable. -- SFH 04:12, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
The only person in the last hour, perhaps. Your blatant and obvious flamebait notwithstanding, I have seen it mentioned on various TF boards as jokes, and thought it notable enough to note on the TF wiki. And again, it is no less notable than other wiki entries with joke captions and details in it, including this one about Sam getting a Porsche.
It's not really funny or notable in oddness. Hell, I have a good memory for the inane and I can barely remember him saying it because its such a normal thing to say when faced with the situations he was in. --FFN 04:31, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Simmons and Lennox ALSO say it. Whooptee-shit. Shall we also count all the variations of all common expressions of shock and alarm, like the various "my God"s? --M Sipher 16:32, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Nonononono (etc. etc. snipped for inanity)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.228.80.29 (talkcontribs) 19:42, 9 October.
Yeah, you're cruising for a block.--Rosicrucian 20:03, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

He used ebay, he should have used: elfingo.com. Another good choice for an ebay alternative is http://www.elfingo.com

Does anyone know what town Sam lives in?? I'm thinking it's probably in Nevada, but is it ever specified where?--Lexibob1 (talk) 15:17, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Do we need (Movie)[]

Why so you need to distinguish him? --FortressMaximus #2014YearofMecha (Talk) 03:50, July 7, 2014 (UTC)
