Talk:Sandstorm (BW)

When do we see Scorpius with hands? I know the J'nwan Climb mentions Sandstorm's fingers, although we don't know he has his beast mode yet. -LV 00:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

That's the part. And since Windrazor knew who Sandstorm was immediately, that should be the same form he was in in the comic. Whereas Leonicus didn't recognize footage of Sandstorm to be Scorpius (or at least not at first). It's pretty clear his physical appearance changed before assuming his sandstorm identity, not after.-207.224.83.190 01:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm not certain that's all as cut and dried as you say, but I'm willing to buy it. But I don't buy that that means Scorpius had hands any more than Sandstorm does. We don't know what Scorpius' robot mode looked like. -LV 01:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
He's mentioned as clacking his pincers in acknowledgment in Part 1 (covenant,) just like BW Scorponok sometimes did. -Derik 02:17, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
That could be in beast mode, though. -LV 03:07, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Ooh... point. I'll give Covenant a re-read when I go back to make some upcoming changes, and if there's nothing to indicate the Zvestemo is meeting in robot mode I'll nix the trivia note. -Derik 04:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Split

Okay, I've always wondered if Scorpius's ironclad cover identity (namely Sandstorm) wasn't an actual person whose identity he assumed. The IDW BW Sourcebook bive a very nice listing of Sandstorm in the relative 'present' of the BEast Wars- with no coy hints about him having mystic origins or being more than he seems The BW Sourcebook was not shy about such hints, so their omission is... noticeable.

Additionally (and more to the point,) BW Sandstorm's cyberbee is listed as a drone. And while IDW in many ways 'went back to the tech-spec' when crafting he basis for their characters, (including some bizarre choices like making JP Shadow Panther a separate character from Ravage) Sandstorm's Botcon 99 tech-spec says the Beeline isn't a drone, that he's "infused with the spark of a deceased comrade." So the IDW profile (representing Sandstorm in the 'present') actually differs from the tech-spec (Representing Scorpius in the 32nd Century.)

Basically I'm suggesting that Scorpius (who can time-travel freely) chose to to go deep-cover on Cybertron by appearing at the moment of Sandstorm's death- and replacing him (and infusing his spark into the drone.) I don't think... that's reaching?

Regardless of whether my conjuncture of circumstances is correct, I think making Sandstorm a separate character is the right choice. Does anyone else have an opinion on the matter? -Derik 13:17, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

"I don't think... that's reaching?" It is. Never mind that IDW continuity is incompatible with 3H's. —Interrobang 19:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
