Please stop adding needlessly speculative "trivia" to Transformers Animated articles.--RosicrucianTalk 22:06, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Japanophile

So... I've noticed that you're apparently an avid fan of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Good for you.

What you seem to fail to notice is that this is not the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann wiki, and thus adding Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann references to what is quickly approaching half a dozen articles is maybe overdoing it just a little.--RosicrucianTalk 23:20, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

In addition, connections to Gurren Lagann ARE speculative until and unless we have direct confirmation from the animation staff (since the toys' eye designs are considerably less narrow and pointy). Without that, you have visual similarities and MAYBE production schedules, depending on how soon the animation designs and scripts had to be done, how available Gurren Lagann would have been to the animation staff at the time, etc. Evidence that supports a theory (i.e., speculation), but not solid proof. In time, you may be proven correct, but until we get that solid proof, your presentation of the idea goes outside the intended scope of the wiki.--Apcog 23:40, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

In particular, I've seen that "kamino shades" style approximately 86 billion times in lots of other cartoons, comics and videogames from Japan. I don't think an incidental character glimpsed in the closing movie of RockMan 8 back in 1997 is a ten-year-preemptive homage to a 2007 anime. Prime's axe could just as easily have come from the enduring visual of a fireman (he is a firetruck) with a fire axe... plus the rocket-booster bit I saw way back in Battle Angel Alita, but I didn't add that because I figure a rocket-powered melee weapon's probably been in a million other sci-fi fictions. --M Sipher 23:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, bonus points for running off to 4chan for reinforcements. --Carrion 00:13, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Have they stopped hating Robin yet? --FFN 05:09, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
