The name or term Wheeljack refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Wheeljack (disambiguation).

Wheeljack is one of Bulkhead's best and oldest friends. On Cybertron, they had fought together on numerous occasions. He is a strong warrior in battle and wields two Cybertanium katanas. He, like Bulkhead, enjoys a good game of Lobbing.

Fiction[]

Prime cartoon[]

Wheeljack was shot down by Vehicons when he arrived on Earth. Upon landing, he was ambushed. He fights valiantly but got captured. Meanwhile, a fake Wheeljack came to the Autobot base. The real Wheeljack escaped and fought against Starscream and his forces.[citation needed]

When the impostor opened up a ground-bridge portal to let the Decepticons in, Wheeljack made it in first and Ratchet managed to close it before Starscream could get in. Wheeljack and the imposter then faced each other in a duel and he won. The bots attached a grenade to the impostor and send him back through the portal to Starscream, at which point the explosives went off, killing the impostor and silencing him so that he can't reveal the location of the Autobot Base.[citation needed]

Though invited to stay, Wheeljack chose not to as he wished to continue space exploration and maybe find more surviving Autobots. He invited Bulkhead along but he declined as his team, and his partner Miko, need him more than Wheeljack needed Bulk. They said goodbye and Wheeljack, in good humor, told Miko to take care of Bulkhead else he's coming after her, and she responded by taking a snap of the two former Wreckers with her cell. Con Job

Later, when Bulkhead's brain was taken over by information containing a formula for Synthetic Energon and Bulkhead began to lose his memory, Miko used the picture she took of the two of them to try and jogged his memory, to no avail. T.M.I.

During his time looking for surviving Autobots, he picked up the signal of fellow-wrecker Seaspray. However, the decepticon Dreadwing got to Seaspray first and put a bomb on Seaspray's ship; with the intention of eliminating both Autobots. However, Wheeljack survived and gave chase, eventually bringing him back to Earth. Once there, he thought Optimus Prime would abandon his troops "when the scrap hits the fanblades." However, he was quickly proven wrong when Dreadwing tried to blow-up Bulkhead, Prime, and Wheeljack; and Optimus convinced Dreadwing to de-fuse the bomb. Wheeljack then decided to stay on Earth to do some exploring, gaining a new vehicle-mode in the process. Loose Cannons

When the coordinates to four separate Iacon relics were uncovered at once, The Autobots, who were vastly outnumbered by the Decepticons, chose to split into four teams in order to recover the relics. Ratchet was assigned to Wheeljack. Together they set off in the Jackhammer to the relic's coordinates. Along the way they were attacked by Soundwave who deployed Laserbeak in order to slow them down while he made his way towards the relic. Wheeljack was able to shoot down Laserbeak but the Jackhammer was also shot down in the process. When Wheeljack and Ratchet exited the craft they found Laserbeak. Wheeljack suggested that they plant a bomb inside Laserbeak when Soundwave comes back for him. However, Ratchet decided to plant a virus in Laserbeak that would transfer the Iacon database to the Autobots while Wheeljack traveled to Soundwave in order to give Ratchet the time that he needed. When Wheeljack reached Soundwave they both briefly fought with Wheeljack managing to damage Soundwave's visor but Soundwave was able to use the relic, the Resonance Blaster, to disable Wheeljack. Soundwave refrained from finishing him to go and retrieve Lasberbeak. Weakened, Wheeljack manages to warn Ratchet. Ratchet was able to find Wheeljack and the two made their way back to the Jackhammer. Once there, Ratchet groundbridged back to base while Wheeljack stayed to repair the Jackhammer. Triage

Wheeljack returned to the Autobot base when he heard that Bulkhead had been severely injured. After seeing his friend so badly damaged he demanded the name of the Con responsible, which Optimus refused to provide, stating that revenge would not help Bulkhead. Wheeljack then stormed out and headed for the Jackhammer. There he found Miko who also wanted revenge. Initially Wheeljack refused to allow Miko to come along but when she revealed that she knew who had injured Bulkhead, he relented and allowed her to tag along. Wheeljack planned out the first step in luring out Hardshell by capturing an energon mine, and called Megatron, revealing that Bulkhead had survived. He transmitted the coordinates of his next target and blew up the mine. Sure enough, Hardshell arrived, ordered by Megatron to take Wheeljack's spark to make up for his failure. Unfortunately, the Insecticon was familiar with all his "Wrecker tricks". But before Hardshell could scrap him, Miko fired missiles from the Jackhammer, rather than activate the autopilot to return home as Wheeljack instructed, scrapping the Insecticon. But as the Insecticon hive gave pursuit, Wheeljack tossed out and shot his stockpile of grenades, causing enough confusion to allow both of them to escape. Wheeljack then informally welcomed Miko to the Wrecker, stating that she made Bulkhead proud. However, the human felt that revenge was a dish served cold. Returning Miko to base, Wheeljack left, unwilling to see Bulkhead in his injured state. Hurt Unfortunately, the effect of Wheeljack and Miko's revenge stunt resulted in Ratchet losing all trust in him. New Recruit

  • Wheeljack (Cyberverse Legion, 2012)
This commander size Wheeljack comes with his spaceship. The spaceship carries the new light-up feature, when commander class figures are plugged in and a button is pressed, the clear parts on the figures glow. He also comes with his two Katanas.
  • Wheeljack (Deluxe, 2012)
    • Accessories: Katana *2
This is a very show-accurate Deluxe size figure of Wheeljack. Though it wasn't show in his debut episode, he transforms into a white and red sports car. This mold was used to make Dead End.

Prime: Beast Hunters[]

  • Wheeljack (Deluxe, December 2012)

Along with Bumblebee, he was spotted at Toysrus in late December of 2012. His vehicle mode is a homage to Rodimus Prime.

Notes[]

  • Wheeljack's katanas are the only Autobot melee weapons seen in Prime that are not completely connected to his arms. All the other melee weapons deploy directly from their owners' arms. Knock Out and Dreadwing also have melee weapons that are not attached but they are both Decepticons.
  • Even when Bulkhead claimed Wheeljack didn't have a vehicle mode, he still had wheels and a car hood, not unlike how Airachnid had helicopter parts ready for when she scanned her mode.
  • Wheeljack often refers to Ratchet as "Doc" in the episode "Triage". When Ratchet warns him about doing so, Wheeljack called him "Sunshine".
  • wheeljack's transformation sound is the same as jazz while he transforms into robot mode in transformers fall of cybertron.
